BAND

The band program is available for all students at KCA. Starting in the 4th grade all students are taught an instrument of their choice. This program continues in 5th and 6th grade and through middle school with students taking band during one of the semesters as an elective.

BEGINNERS

Students start band at the beginning of 4th grade and may choose from Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Bells/Perc. Some instruments are available from the school for a rental fee of $30, however, rental instruments are advised. You may also choose to use a family or friend “hand me down” instrument, or one you have found online. If that is the case, please consult with the teacher so I can assure you it is in proper working condition and an adequate model to ensure your child’s success.

DRUMLINE

Drumline is open to 3rd grade and up and meets on Tues/Thurs. from 3:45 - 5:00 in music room and has openings throughout the year. There are 9 auditioned positions, but all interested will be able to participate.  The Drumline performs at Pep Events, Basketball Games, Grandparents and Parents Day and community events.
