STATEMENT OF FAITH
The following has been adopted as the official doctrinal position of the School. All Biblical instruction shall conform to these commonly held doctrines of historic Christianity. Denominational distinctives shall be left to the individual churches and shall not be taught within the School.
(1) We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things and eternally existent in three
Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1; Matt. 28:19; John 10:30)
(2) We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word
of God. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21)
(3) We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 10:30, 10:33, 20:28), in His virgin
birth (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:35), in His sinless life (Heb. 4:15), in His miracles
(John 2:1-9; Mark 9:2-7; Luke 9:38-43; Matt. 14:25; John 11:1-44), in His substitutionary
and atoning death through His shed blood (Heb. 9:12-14; Eph. 1:3-7; Col. 1:12-14), in
His bodily resurrection (John 20:25-29; 1 Cor. 15:4), and in His ascension to the right
hand of the Father (Mark 16:19).
(4) We believe that the present ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ,
to convict men and women of their sin, to regenerate the believing sinner, and to indwell,
guide, instruct, and empower the Christian believer for godly living and service. (1 Cor.
3:16, 6:19-20; Rom. 8:11-14; Eph. 4:30, 5:18; 1 John 4:13, 4:16).
(5) We believe that God actively created, from nothing, the universe and all living things –
plants, animals and humans. (Gen. 1:1-27; Heb. 11:3).
(6) We believe that man was created as a unique being in the image of God to have dominion
over the earth, but fell into sin and is therefore lost. (Gen. 1:26-28; Gen. 3).
(7) We believe that salvation can only be obtained through regeneration by the Holy Spirit
and accepting and trusting Jesus Christ as Savior. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His
resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe,
and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become
believers by faith alone and God’s grace. (John 3:16-19; John 5:24; Matt. 26:27-28; Rom.
5:8-9; Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:5).
(8) We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving
faith in Jesus Christ, have been born anew by the Holy Spirit and are united together in
the Body of Christ of which He is the Head. (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12-13; Gal. 3:26-28,
Col. 1:18)
(9) We believe in the personal and imminent return in power and glory of our Lord Jesus
Christ and that this blessed hope has a vital bearing on the personal life of the believer.
(Acts 1:11; Rev. 19:11-16; 1 Thess. 4:16-17; Matt. 24:36-51).
(10) We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting
blessedness and joy with the Lord and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting
punishment. (Dan. 12:2-3; John 5:28-29; Rev. 20:11-15).
(11) We believe that the term marriage has only one meaning: the uniting of a naturally born
man and a naturally born woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture
(Gen. 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a
man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor. 6:18, 7:2-5; 1 Thess. 4:3; Heb.
13:4). We believe God commands that there be no sexual intimacy outside of or apart
from marriage between a man and a woman.
(12) We believe that God wonderfully foreordained and immutably created each person as
either male or female in conformity with their biological sex. These two distinct yet
complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen. 1:26-27).
(13) We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image (Gen. 1:26-27).
Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the
aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from
conception through natural death (Ps. 139:13-16; Jer. 1:5). We are therefore called to
defend, protect, and value all human life (Ex. 20:13).
This Statement of Faith is not exhaustive of all of our beliefs. The Bible, as the inspired and
infallible Word of God, speaks with absolute authority regarding the proper conduct of mankind
and is the unchanging foundation for all belief and behavior. The School’s Board of Directors
holds final interpretive authority on biblical meaning and application with regard to faith
doctrine, policy, practice and discipline.
