FINE ARTS

ABOUT FINE ARTS

-

The mission of the KCA Fine Arts Department is to provide a Christ-centered curriculum that inspires, equips, and empowers students to discover, develop and demonstrate their God-given talents while establishing a life-long appreciation for the arts. Fine arts programs include visual and performing arts with a wide range of opportunities for participation. Current program offerings include art, drama, choir, and band.

Our students are challenged to acknowledge the responsibility to use their talents to serve God and others. The King's Christian Academy believes that arts are essential to a well-rounded education. It provides the individual with a sense of confidence through their accomplishments. The Fine Arts Department is committed to providing students with instruction in each discipline as well as performance and exhibition opportunities.

Elementary Fine Arts develops disciplines which stimulate creative and organic expression. Students express and refine their creativity through works of art, both visual and in performance, critical thinking of the arts, and cultural awareness of the world around them with Christ at the center.

Programming includes: Beginner & Intermediate Bands, Strings Club, Weekly Art Courses, Weekly Music Classes, Private Music Lessons in voice/instrument and Chapel Performances

Our Upper School program at KCA emphasizes a quality stage experience for both the performers and the audience in drama, music, and chorus. The Fine Arts department recognizes its obligation to provide every KCA student, with the opportunity to experience, understand, and participate in the arts.

The following options are available to Upper School students: Elective Art & Art History/Appreciation Courses, Elective Drama Classes, Annual fall and spring drama productions and musicals, Praise Team (instrumental and vocal opportunities) and Choral Ensemble.
