Lacy Schiffelbein

With almost a decade of experience in Christian education, Mrs. Schiffelbein has taught kindergarten through second grade in the Southern Maryland area. She has also worked with children with autism and has a background in behavioral therapy. At KCA, she has taught first grade, served on the elementary Professional Development & Mentor team, and assisted in strengthening the lower elementary curriculum as a whole, particularly in the area of structured literacy. Mrs. Schiffelbein is passionate and knowledgeable about the science of learning, explicit instruction, and utilizing the link between evidence-based research and classroom practices to produce optimal student outcomes. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi and a master’s degree from Alliant International University, achieved while enrolled in a doctoral program, with an interest in neuropsychology. Mrs. Schiffelbein lives here with her husband, who serves in the US Navy, and their four children. She and her family are members of Patuxent Baptist Church.

Lauren Deaton

Lauren is from Pensacola, Florida, and a graduate of Judson College in Marion, Alabama where she competed on an Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team. She is married to Seth, and they have three children, Maddie, Levi, and Benjamin. The Marine Corps moved the family to the area in the summer of 2022. Her educational experience includes two years in public education, teaching in both ESE and general education classrooms, and two years in a classical school. In her spare time, she is working on her master’s degree in elementary education from Liberty University and hopes to get back into horseback riding.

Suzanne Rog

Suzanne Rog is a Certified Director and Preschool Teacher who has lived in Southern Maryland her entire life. This is her seventh year at KCA, where she serves as the Director and Pre-K Teacher for the 4-year-old program. With over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, Suzanne has taught in many different settings and age groups, yet her passion remains working with young learners and helping them build strong academic and social foundations.
Suzanne believes every child is unique, capable, and deserving of a nurturing, engaging environment where they feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. Her goal each day is to create a classroom where children can grow not only academically, but emotionally and spiritually as well.
She is a proud member of Faith Bible Church and is married to her husband, Matthew. Together they have four wonderful children, the youngest of whom graduated from KCA in 2025 and is currently attending Frostburg State University. Suzanne also enjoys camping, reading, and spending time with her family, including her five beloved grandchildren. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, continuing her journey as a lifelong learner and passionate educator.

Julie Allen

Julie (Ralon) Allen is a 2005 graduate of Cairn University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biblical Studies. Mrs. Allen is a southern Maryland native. She attended KCA (LPCS) from 1st-12th grades (“a lifer”), graduating with the third graduating class in 2001. She has taught second grade, kindergarten-second grade art, substituted in Pre-K, has been an aide in first, second, third, and fifth grades, and is now back in second grade. She is married to Peter, whom she met at KCA (LPCS). Their two children, Annabelle and Matthew, attend KCA. She and her family attend Faith Bible Church in Mechanicsville, MD.
