Leslie Funk

Secretary

Leslie Funk is a former newspaper reporter and former teacher at KCA. She earned her bachelor’s degree in history at the University of Chicago and her master’s in journalism at the University of Michigan. After 14 years covering government and environmental issues in PA, she spent 10 years raising two daughters with her husband, John, an engineer. Once the girls were in school full time, she taught journalism at St. Mary’s College of MD for a year and then joined the faculty at KCA in 2006. She taught Bible to high school freshmen and English language arts to middle schoolers and high schoolers. Her daughters, Elizabeth and Kathryn, are KCA graduates. Retiring from KCA after 11 years, she now does volunteer writing for nonprofit organizations and pens fictional works. She loves spending time with her husband. Together, they enjoy jamming on guitar, cycling and kayaking. They attend Faith Bible Church in Mechanicsville.
