From 9th to 12th grade, our students take their Biblical foundation to a new level. Faculty that prepares each student to defend their worldview, a tight knit student body that embraces newcomers, and a philosophy of Christ-centered values and academic excellence make this a truly exceptional campus.
The KCA High School has an excellent educational program taught by a talented and dedicated faculty. Your student’s high school years are a special time in his or her life—a time of academic and personal challenge, and a time to make important decisions about his or her future plans.
Students are challenged to work hard academically, to grow in their faith and personal relationship with God, and to make positive contributions to the school through academic excellence, involvement in leadership opportunities, service projects, athletics, and fine arts. With caring adults who hold high standards for students in every area of school life, the Upper School provides a unique environment for students to learn and grow during their high school years.
One of our goals is to serve and nurture all of our students. This aim begins with our 9th grade class. The high school experience of today is filled with more pressure, more competition, and higher expectations than ever before. Knowing this, we double our efforts to support and nurture those in need. Here are highlights and various features that benefit students:
PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE KCA offers a wide range of academic classes, including several honors courses and a variety of college preparatory electives. Our guidance counselor provide a rich range of events appropriate to different grade levels and designed to promote academic success. We work individually with students on college admissions and other post high school graduation programs. Personal counseling is part of a counselor’s role, and something we believe is important for your student’s success. Your student receives information and resources in the following areas:
Colleges & universities
Community service opportunities
Financial aid & scholarship opportunities
Local, national & international summer programs
FINE ARTS A strong creative and performing arts department provides performance opportunities through drama, vocal, and instrumental music. Student artwork is regularly displayed in art shows on campus and in the broader community, and our student artists participate in local competitions. The school newspaper also provides students with an opportunity to contribute with the written word, photos, and graphic design. Our vocal groups offer students the opportunity to showcase their musical gifts for others within the community and travel across the country at singing competitions.
ATHLETICS Athletics are an integral part of a well-rounded education at The King’s Christian Academy. Like every activity and program, we promote athletics within an environment of building Christian character. Our teams practice hard and play hard and – win or lose – faith in Christ remains their common bond. KCA gives everyone a chance to participate. We offer varsity and junior varsity teams in several sports, including basketball, track and field, cross country, soccer, volleyball, and cheerleading
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Extra-curricular activities encompass a broad range of boys’ and girls’ athletic teams, a diverse array of clubs, and a strong student leadership program are responsible for organizing student activities and providing feedback to teachers and administrators. Responsible citizenship is promoted through peer tutoring and community service programs.
DISCOVER WHY KCA IS EXPERIENCING RECORD ENROLLMENT! KCA is dedicated to the development of well-rounded students. We take our academic responsibilities seriously and offer an outstanding curriculum. But more importantly, it is our responsibility to prepare our students for life beyond the classroom. In 2012, graduates were awarded thousands in scholarships, including full-tuition awards.
Our teachers guide students in developing the core skills of observation, collaboration, communication, analysis, and evaluation. Students learn these skills in an environment that also inspires them to explore their talents – in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and in the arts.

Eagles [Making a Difference]
Our class sizes are small, and our accomplishments are huge. KCA graduates go on to pursue a variety of careers. Whether they find themselves in the business world, in a laboratory, on a missionary field, we've given them to tools to succeed.
They speak... we LISTEN.
Our families are our best asset. Many have been with us for years. Others have just found us. Some have traveled from other countries to be with us, while many are permanent Southern Maryland residents. Either way, we appreciate hearing their feedback.
