Instrumental Music

The major goal of the beginning experience is to provide a solid base of musical skills and techniques, while providing an opportunity for students to have fun making music with others.  This is accomplished through weekly lessons, group rehearsals and school concerts.

The program is available to all students in 4th,  5th, and 6th Grade interesting in learning a band or orchestra instrument. Students receive instruction in a small group once a week for 30-45 minutes in grade level and/or like-ability groupings.  Lessons are scheduled so students will have as little interruption in their daily schedules as possible. Students are expected to practice on a daily basis for homework.
