Prior to coming to The King's Christian Academy in 2008, Mr. Fry and his family served as missionaries in Guatemala for 10 years serving as Principal of Christian Academy of Guatemala. During this time, he was responsible for overseeing building improvement projects, starting innovative and advanced programs, and adding extracurricular activities. Prior to that, he served as Principal at Columbia Middle School and Vice Principal/Dean of Students at Riverside High School in Oregon. Mr. Fry taught for 4 years before his administrative years and has continued to teach classes and coach as needed. Mr. Fry is the Administrator of The King's Christian Academy. He is a graduate of George Fox University with a BA in Writing/Literature with 65 graduate credits in School Administration, Curriculum and Language Arts. Mr. Harris is a 1989 graduate of Eastern University with a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education (Math, History). In his career he has taught in South Philadelphia, served as a youth pastor for five years at Quakertown Bible Fellowship in Pennsylvania, as well as worked and lived in Sweden (Gävle and Falun) for eight years at the Internationella Engelska Skolan, a Swedish school with an English profile. Barbara Hanks is the Director of Communications and Development at The King's Christian Academy. She brings over 17 years of experience in marketing and communication and a strong background in writing, design and editing. She obtained her Bachelors degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara in Dramatic Art, proving that theater majors can be successful! Before coming to KCA, Barbara worked in the Marketing & PR department at St. Mary's Hospital for five years. Barbara Mashtare is the Director of Admissions for KCA. She has lived in St. Mary's County since February 2010 when her family moved to Maryland from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Barbara has one KCA graduate, two current students, and a fourth child who will attend Pre-K in the fall. Most recently, she worked as the Assistant Director at Riversong Christian Learning Center for six years. When Barbara is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and serving in ministry with her husband. Celeste began substitute teaching in 2009 and came on full-time as the school's Development Secretary in October 2011. She also serves as the school's Summer Camp Secretary and teaches a Spanish club for 4th Grade, as well as a devotional class for 6th grade girls. She came to KCA with a background in marketing and sales and has a B.A. in linguistics from UMBC. In her spare time, Celeste enjoys being an AWANA leader at Faith Bible Church in Mechanicsvsville. She has been a St. Mary's County resident for the past four years and is a devoted mom to Brandon Pullias.
Julie Dean is the Front Office Manager and Receptionist at The King's Christian Academy. Julie also works as a Medication Technician in the nurse's office. She started at the school as a Substitute Teacher and a Lower School Aide. Julie has worked in various other positions as the school has grown. She has been with the school since 1995. Julie has lived most of her life on the East Coast, but has been a resident of Southern Maryland since 1986. She started college at Robert's Wesleyan in NY for nursing, but then married and supported her husband in his Naval career. He retired here in St. Mary's County from the Navy and continues his career with the U.S. Government. They have two adult daughters. One is married living in Seattle and the other resides in MD. Omar De La Torre
Omar De la Torre is a graduate of the Univesidad de Guadalajara in Mexico, holding a degree in Information Systems. Before coming to KCA, he served as a Support Technician, Computer Teacher and IT Help Desk coordinator; most recently at the Lincoln School, a Christian school with English and Spanish program. He is married to Sarah and has three children. They attend Ministerio de Amor en Cristo, where he serves as part of the worship team.
